Here is our funny Freckles, home in Texas with her lovely new family, including a pug named Delilah. Delilah appears quite accomplished at delivering the ol' stink eye, as you see here! (Click on the photo to enlarge it) Nonetheless, we feel sure Delilah and Freckles are bound to be good pals, and we wish Freckles and her family many years of happiness and good times together.
Perhaps a little something tasty will sweeten Delilah's mood. We often enjoy a frozen treat called Frosty Paws in summer (available in some supermarkets), and we frequently request that our Royal Chef whip up a homemade variant. We command and decree that Delilah and Freckles shall enjoy a celebratory snack together for the purpose of cementing the bonds of friendship, be the snack purchased or made at home!
Our favorite recipe for frozen treats follows:
Puppy Pops
Makes 3-5 ice cube trays, depending on your tray.
One quart plain organic yogurt (lowfat or nonfat is fine)
One banana
2 Tablespoons peanut butter
4 Tablespoons of Missing Link supplement (optional)
Swirl ingredients in blender until banana is pureed. Pour into ice cube trays sprayed with a little bit of non-stick spray.
Freeze. When frozen, remove from trays, and store in a plastic container. One or two on a hot afternoon hits the spot! Serve outdoors to save clean-up. A savory version can be made, substituting 1/2 cup of shredded or grated parmesan cheese instead of banana and peanut butter.
Well, now! See there? Delilah and Freckles look much happier at just the thought of a freezy pop or two!
We leave you now in hopes that the Royal Chef has a batch of cheesy flavored ones on hand to silence the growling tummy of
The Frog Princess
